1. First take a fabric, whose size is 4 1/2 inches x 22 inches.
2. Put a line of glue along the edge of the fabric.
3. Then before the glue hardens, fold the edge of the cloth over the glue and repeat the same with the other end.

5. Then apply a drop of glue on the outer edge of one side of the cloth and stick the other part of the cloth on top of it.

Things needed to make DIY scrunchies

• 1/4 – 1/2 yard Cotton quilting fabric (Thick quarters are even better)
• 3/8″ iron on hem tape with paper backing
• 3/4 inch elastic
• Fabric scissors
• Iron

1. First cut a piece of fabric measuring 4 inches x 18 inches.
2. Then fold each long edge 1/2 inch and press with a hot iron
3. Next cut a piece of fabric 18 inches long on the hem tape and iron it onto one of the long folded edges according to instructions, leaving the paper backing on
4. Look, don’t try to peel off the paper backing just yet. First, flip the fabric over and iron a second piece of hem tape with the paper backing on the length of one short end of your fabric. Don’t try to peel off this backing either.
5. Then turn your fabric over and remove the paper with just the long piece of hem tape
6. Then fold the fabric lengthwise, carefully placing the folded edges together to form a long tube. Then iron the seam according to the instructions on the hem tape to secure the length. Then let it cool.
7. Look, now your fabric has become a long tube. Peel off the paper backing from the short end of the tube and fold that edge inward about 3/4 inch, so that a finished edge is formed. Then, to keep the fold in place, gently flatten the fold with the heat of your fingers rather than pressing it with an iron.
8. Then cut a piece of elastic about 1 inch long and insert it into the cloth tube so that it comes out from both ends.
9. Then pull on both ends of the elastic.
10. Gather it by pulling on both ends of the elastic until it’s as tight as you want it and then tie the two ends into a secure knot.
11. Cut off the excess elastic and then move the elastic inside the scrunchie so the knot is not on the seam.
12. Look, at this point, you have one end of the tube that is folded and has the hem tape on the inside, and then look you have one end that is the raw fabric edge. Insert the raw end about 1 inch inside the folded end, to make sure the hem tape has enough surface area to stick to.
